Weekly Mini Podcast Assignments

Assignment 1

Audio playgrounds were short, bite-sized projects that we created each week to flex our creative muscles and think outside of the box. Most of them required us to be in a single space and were structured around specific limitations. I used these projects to write some simple music, practice my radio voice (which I have gotten used to hearing and am no longer embarrassed by), and just have fun putting sounds together into a short, meaningful piece. Here I had to tell the story of the room in which I was currently sitting.

Assignment 2

For this assignment, I had to think of back to a specific moment from the past in which someone had a profound effect on me. I composed the music again and tried my best to subtly simulate the environment of that memory. Listen to find out who gets the special shout-out.

Assignment 3

My last example is a pretty abstract piece for which all I had to do was articulate some sort of cohesive list. I decided to focus in on my body and the sounds it both makes and uncovers from the space around it. This is more or less the closest to ASMR I have ever gotten.
